CHILDREN’S STORY HOUR

christmas banner story hour

Thank you to all who came to our Children’s Story hour on Dec. 8th. For those who were unable to attend, below is a recap of the event, the book we read and the crafts we did.

What we read…

Crystal Johnson read Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree by Robert Barry. You can find it at the Greeneville/Greene County Public Library.

What we made…

For our craft, we made ornaments using pictures of those who attended. The pictures were taken as the children arrived, then printed out by Lelia Heinbach, our Circulation Coordinator. Using the lids and rings of mason jars, the children added designs and used washi tape to decorate the edges. Even Ku Long had his picture taken for an ornament:

You can find instructions on how to create these cute ornaments here.

Books and snacks

After crafts, Kathy Hipps (Assistant Director) took the children upstairs to find books to check out from our Juvenile Literature collection.

Refreshments were coordinated by Carolyn Parker (Technical Services) and included fruits and veggies, chips, cupcakes, juice and hot chocolate. Work study student Lizzie Talley performed an encore reading of the book after refreshments.

We hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did!
