WELCOME TO THE THOMAS J. GARLAND LIBRARY

We have updated to OpenAthens, a single sign-in, access management software. Your username and password is the same as you would log on to a lab computer, Canvas, or WebAdvisor. If you encounter any problems, please contact the library: (423)636-7320 or library@tusculum.edu.

Attention Tusculum University family!

We are currently experiencing an issue with our single sign-in to library databases. We are aware of the issue and are currently working with EBSCO on a fix. Hopefully this issue will be resolved soon.

It seems the issue is something with the connector between student accounts and OpenAthens. So far this issue seems to follow these steps:

  1. Student attempts to log into a database as normal, using credentials that have previously worked before.
  2. Receive the error message, “Username or Password were Invalid”.
  3. Student attempts to unlock or reset password with Tusculum Information Systems Department.
  4. Log in continues to fail.

If you are experiencing this issue, please try to reset your university password before contacting the library. We do have a work around solution to assist with database access until a fix with OpenAthens has been implemented.

If you are still unable to log in after resetting or unlocking your account, please email Lelia Dykes (ldykes@tusculum.edu) and she will set up a work around sign in for you. This will be a temporary account to sign into the library databases ONLY. When the issue is resolved, you will be notified and the temporary account deleted.
